Dean’s Research Award (Fall 2024)

“Extending the Capacity
of a 3D-Printed
Multi-Articulating Hand”

In the fall semester of 2024, I participated in the University of Alberta Faculty of Engineering’s Dean’s Research Award program.

During this time, I contributed to the development of an open-source prosthetic hand, called the HANDi Hand. My work focused on redesigning the thumb joint of the hand to incorporate a better servo motor.

The redesigned thumb will allow the HANDi Hand to better assist researchers developing machine learning-powered prosthetic devices.
